Today, I gave myself the gift of a timeout. Not the kind you give a toddler mid-tantrum, but the grown-woman kind—where you quietly step away from the shoulds, the schedules, and the "go live tonight" pressures and decide: Nope, not today.
This weekend, I put my product-based business on the road and out of town, and let me just say—it did her big one. It was a success. Strangers turned into supporters, feedback flowed like honey, and I had that beautiful pocket of clarity that only comes when you’re away from home, outside your comfort zone, and possibly slightly sunburned.
And now that I’m back? I’m not rushing into the next thing. I’m sitting with the weekend. I’m letting it soak in. I'm reflecting. I’m tending to the creative whispers that have been swimming in my brain like caffeinated koi fish.
So tonight, instead of showing up on camera with my lipstick half-on and my thoughts half-formed, I’m showing up for me. I’m working on something that’s been tugging at me—a project that needs more of my stillness than my sparkle.
This is your reminder: Big dreams require big energy. But they also require rest. Reflection. Reset. So give yourself a timeout when you need one. The world can wait. You, however? You deserve the pause.
